DISILLUSION Experiencing Recording Delays
July 19, 2003Leipzig, Germany-based metallers DISILLUSION are taking longer than expected to complete the recordings for their full-length debut, "Back To Times Of Splendor". "[The] recordings have now been going on for 11 weeks straight, which clearly exceeds our estimation," the band write on their official web site. "Still, we are far from finishing the recordings. Five songs are pretty much done so far — two to go.
"We have decided to take a short break to clear heads, finish up the lyrics and resume work in a couple of days. Problem is, we do not really know why things take so long, but they do.
"Well, as I said, 5 songs are finished and we are getting a clearer picture of how the record will be/sound like, although it is very hard to express as again every song is different, focuses on different emotions ... all in all it will be way more atmospheric, even darker, stronger, this I can tell with absolute certainty. Basically there is only one classical/real melodic death metal riff left on the whole record. So, for those who have expected us to do more songs as on 'The Porter' single, we must disappoint you. Anyway, I don't want to reveal too much as yet, since all there is to talk about is still without vocals…"
"Back To Times Of Splendor" is due in September/October through Metal Blade Records via a licensing agreement with Voice Of Life Records. All subsequent albums will be released directly under the Metal Blade banner.
